On Saturday night Rockford police and other law enforcement officers responded to a shooting at Illinois bowling alley, Don Carter Lanes, which has left three dead and three wounded. Two of which are teens.
A 37- year old white male has been taken into custody as a suspect in what police are calling a random shooting. The unidentified suspect was still in the building as officers arrived on scene where the attack had taken place inside and outside of the bowling alley.
Rockford police Chief Dan O’Shea says in a Saturday night press conference, that the call was received around 7p.m. , and upon arrival 3 were already confirmed as dead, while the 3 others had to be treated at a local hospital for injuries sustained; amongst the wounded were two teens. Currently it’s unknown if the deceased and the injured were patrons or employees of the establishment due to ages and identities being unreleased reports CBS affiliate, WIFR-TV.
Police are unsure if the bowling alley was open for business at the time the shooting occurred, but says the establishment should have been closed according to COVID-19 restrictions implemented by the state.
